Piping Stories: New Orleans Second Line

I had the absolute joy of piping at a friend's wedding in New Orleans, followed by a traditional second line through the streets with a brass band, my fellow piper, and a whole lot of very happy wedding guests.

It started raining, our police escort never appeared, and somehow the wedding party ended up helping direct traffic. At one point the band leader led everyone straight through a park we apparently weren't supposed to be in. His advice for playing along when you don't know what's coming next? β€œDon't worry about it. Just play with love.”

Honestly, that pretty much summed up the entire day. Rain, bagpipes, brass, dancing in the streets, and just enough chaos to make it perfect. One of the most fun weddings I've ever played.
