Bagpipes, Traditions, and Tassels: UCLA Graduation with the crew
Every year, it’s an honor to be part of UCLA Anderson’s graduation ceremony. Playing with this crew has become a tradition of its own—kilts, pipes, and all.
We kick off the procession with “Green Hills” and “Battles O’er,” holding the line as hundreds of grads make their way to their seats. There’s always that point when we side-eye each other: Is that the last one? Can we stop playing now? But truthfully, there’s no better backdrop to a sea of blue gowns, mortarboards flying, and proud families cheering.
Here’s to the graduates, the future they’re stepping into—and to keeping some traditions loud and alive.
